7 Days to Die Base Ideas – Micro Base

With the release of A20, for 7 Days to Die, I wanted to explore a different base idea. I was looking for something unique but none of the new POIs excited me. I’m not sure how to explain it, but there has to be ‘a certain something special’ about a POI, for me to capture, that really speaks to me. There were a ton of new additions to this update, but I was left wanting something else… Enter the ‘Micro Base’!

My bot hovering over the base entrance. Can you see the new base? Neat, right?

With this build, I went for something incredibly compact and what I like to call ‘ultra-minimalist’. Only having the bare necessities for our base, we went base-ic on everything (see what I did there? xD). You’ll see what I mean over the next few pictures. First, let’s talk about the entrance.

Seems like a simple ‘hole in the floor’ base so far.

The entrance, and the entire base, is constructed of wooden frames and then the usual upgrade materials (as able). With this being a much smaller base, I found that it was incredibly cheap and still provided a high-level of protection. I remember in previous seasons how I spent a lot of time just maintaining and improving the structure of what I would consider a home, which not only took time but a ton of searching and crafting higher-ended materials. With a base like this, it’s a very quick task to refit it with the best build-stuff that you have available.

There isn’t much to say about the entrance. Hatch, ladder and more foundation makes up the front door. This base absolutely lacks any amount of fanfare, as you will soon see. What I hope you’ll see is the joy in how simple it is, overall. Next is a top-down look at what you see when entering the base.

After looking at the insides of the base, you can see there isn’t much to tell about this part either (lol). Every bit of the base is visible from this angle and again at every other position inside the base. This layout has almost everything a survivor needs to prepare for the worst, but not quite everything. A forge, campfire, workbench, bed , cement mixer and four secure storage boxes fit very cozily together.

It might not look like a lot, and it certainly won’t defend itself from a ‘Day 7’ but everything is reachable and can be interacted with from the bed. With this small footprint, the base is compact, cheap and easy to maintain. Just don’t stick around when the zeds come ‘a-knockin’.

My main take away, with this sort of a setup, was that I wanted a very functional base that I can quickly dump stuff off to smelt/cook/craft and go about my day. This checks all of those boxes. Even though I’m minus a Chemistry Station, I felt that this was enough to get me going and act as a bootstrap base for whatever was going to come next.

This base design will also be showcased in my third season of 7 Days to Die and can be found here:

Thanks for checking out my build and I hope to see you surviving in the wastelands.
