I don’t know who even wanted this one but I’m happy to introduce the next OpenTTD tournament. Here we will be revisiting an old theme, but with a twist. Welcome to the ‘Alpine Train Lord’ Tournament. If your first reaction is ‘wait, I’ve heard of this one before’, then you would be correct.
We will be locking the players down to almost entirely trains but there will be some wiggle room for using busses, boats and aircraft. I’m curious to see how all the other players handle this varying landscape.
Here were the rules of the match:
– Max Loan: $500k USD
– Duration (Game): 1980-2000
– City Layout: 3×3 (Town restricted from building roads)
– Duration (IRL): 4 hours and 30 mins to 5 hours
– Tournament Duration: 3 Weeks (July 23th – Aug 14th 2024)
– NewGRF: Raised Landscape Costs, First Name Towns
Whomever has the highest company value, at the end of the 20 years, will be the winner of the tournament. Best of luck to all players involved!
